2018 Edgeworthia chrysantha

Paperbush planted in the secret walk (established some years ago when we cut through the middle of 30 feet of Ponticum).

This plant nestles in a very sheltered spot along with Sarcocca and Daphnes. It has a very strange primeval look with its bare branches and ghost like white clusters which eventually turn into little heads of yellow clusters of tiny flowers and an amazing sweet scent. With 90,000 species and cultivars sold in the UK, those orginating from China are the most sought after.
